When you trust us with your roof, we’ll ensure that it stands strong and watertight for years to come.
Ridge Capping tiles are triangular tiles that run along the apex (ridge line) of the roof. The ridge capping tiles and hip tiles (which run down the sides of a roof where two sloped surfaces meet) are critical parts of the roofing structure as they seal and protect the roofing joints preventing water, debris, and pests from entering the roof space and potentially causing damage.
Your ridge capping and hip tiles take the full extent of the weather and over time the mortar holding your cappings in place can start to crack and deteriorate along with the pointing that seals the joints. Cracks and wear and tear in your roofing should always be addressed quickly to prevent water ingress, leaks and structural damage.
Ridge Capping Rebed & Pointing
Often on older roofs where the ridge capping is damaged and deteriorated the best course of action for a long-lasting repair is to rebed and repoint the capping. This process will extend the life of your roof and ensure the ridge caps and hip tiles remain securely in place, even in adverse weather conditions. In some situations, it may be possible to repair a roof by repointing alone, however, this may not be a long-term solution.
Rebedding
Our rebedding process is thorough and effective and includes the removal of all ridge caps, surface preparation – removing old mortar, replace broken tiles and seal flashings. Once the surface has been prepared, we apply a fresh bed of mortar to anchor the capping s in place.
Repointing
After the ridge capping has been rebeded, the joints between the ridge caps and the mortar bed are filled with a flexible pointing compound. The pointing compound can flex with any movement in the roof to help prevent cracking and dislodging and provides a strong watertight seal preventing water from infiltrating underneath the ridge caps or hip tiles.

Roof Tile Replacemen
Quick and Cost-Effective Tile Replacement
If you have got cracked or damaged roof tiles it is advisable to get them replaced ASAP to maintain the integrity of the roof and help prevent leaks which can damage the underlying structure. Our roof tile replacement service is quick, efficient and cost-effective.
Matching Profiles
Our professional roofers can often get a good idea of the type, style and colour of tile on your roof using satellite imagery. Where possible our roofers will come equipped with matching spare tiles to instantly replace your broken ones. We have a wide network of tile manufacturers, distributors and salvage yards that stock a complete range of roof tiles from period to modern homes.
Tile Replacement Solutions
Depending on the age and availability of your roof tiles, finding an exact match may be challenging. However, if your roofing tile is discontinued and no longer available there are often specific tile profiles that can be used which will closely resemble your existing tiles to maintain a consistent appearance and keep your roof watertight.

What are the common signs that my roof needs repairing?
Common signs include leaks, damaged or missing tiles, mortar falling from the roof, water stains on the ceiling, sagging roof and excessive moss.
How long does a roof repair take?
The time for roof repairs varies based on the scope of work. Small repairs like resealing flashings and changing broken tiles may only take a couple of hours and can often be done on the same day. More extensive repairs such as rebeeding and repointing can take a couple of days depending on the size of your roof.
How will I know if my roof can be repaired or if I need a roof restoration or replacement?
Our team will come out and inspect your roof free of charge and provide an honest assessment based on the age of your roof and the extent of the damage. Many roofing issues can be effectively repaired which will extend the lifespan of your roof.
How do I know if the leak is from my roof or another source such as faulty plumbing?
A professional roof inspection will help determine the source of the leak. However, if the roof leak occurs during heavy rain, it’s likely to be related to the roof.
What is the difference between rebedding and pointing?
Rebedding is where the ridge capping and hip tiles along with the old mortar are removed. The surface is then prepared, and the capping or hip tiles are then rebedded into fresh mortar to anchor them firmly to the roof. Repointing is the process of removing old, cracked pointing used to seal the joints between the ridge capping/hip caps and the roof tiles to create a new watertight seal. Any tiles that have been rebedded will also need to be repointed.
Do I need to get the whole roof repaired or can you just repair a localised area of damage?
If the damage is limited to a specific area of the roof, such as a few missing or damaged tiles a localised repair is often sufficient. However, the older the roof, the more likely it is to have extensive wear and tear, meaning localised repairs will not be a sustainable solution. While localised repairs are often more affordable in the short term, it’s essential to balance cost savings with the long-term durability and integrity of your roof.
What if I have solar panels on the roof?
Where possible we will work around the solar panels. We will advise you if the panels need removing and you can arrange this with your solar provider or we can arrange someone to remove the panels for you.
How do I choose a reputable roofing contractor for repairs?
Look for licensed and insured contractors with a good reputation. Check references, ask for quotes, and ensure they provide written contracts and warranties.
